I'm Zak Curry. I was born January 25, 1992 in Cincinnati and grew up in a smaller town outside of Cincinnati called Ross, where I attened Ross High School. I have one brother, Cody, who is 2 years younger. In my free time I enjoy hunting, playing softball and hanging with my friends. I chose education because I enjoy helping people out and this field offers this.
Reflection #1
5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
a. participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning
All through school every class tried to get you to do community service and try to get their students involved with the community. Also you want to teach your students to become leaders so in the future there will be growth in professions. This class talks about how as a teacher you need to be a leader and have control over your class. You have to be a leader and create lesson plans to get your students involve so they can recieve the information needed. It's very important that your students can get the best education possible.
Reflection #2
1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity a.promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
Trying to get your students to be creative is a big factor in becoming a teacher. Getting each student to think creative will help them be on their own more and figure out what they want their future to be like. Motivating students makes them more creative because they are into their work and interested which will create better future for each student. In this class we have to be creative as a teacher when we plan out our lesson plan. Trying to get your students involved with full focus takes creativity in our lesson plan.
Reflection #3
4. Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility
a. advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright,
intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources
All through school teachers always preached to us about copyright and how we always had to cite our sources for someone's work we used. Being ethical and not stealing someone else's work is preached in schools. If you don't obey the rules of the school for copyrights there are heavy consequences. This taught me the importance of plagirism and copyright. As well as being careful about plagirism and copyright as a student, teachers need to know the importance as well. In this class we talked about making rules for our students and this is sorta on the same page as like promoting responsibilies in your classroom.
